  • 80% of the world’s leather comes from China. China has no regulations on leather, so dogs and cats are often used for leather hides.
  • The fur and skins industry is not transparent about the statistics. The following estimates are based on research:
    • 12 geese for 1 down pillow
    • 8 cows for 1 sofa
    • 150 chinchillas for 1 full-length coat,
    • 60 minks for 1 full-length coat
