Who is responsible for humanity? Only humans. Animals and fish have feelings of joy and pain just like humans. They feel sorrow, loneliness and fear. Many animal species have strong family bonds just like humans (e.g., elephants, wolves, orcas, dolphins, lions, chimpanzees)1. All this has been proven in many ways2. Even fish feel3 as can be witnessed by a Japanese diver kissing a giant fish ‘Yoriko’ that he’s befriended for 25 years, after nursing her to health. The fish remembers her savior with love.

Successes in Helping Abused Animals
Many people and rescue organizations are helping abused animals. Many love animals dearly. There are many success stories in helping abused animals. A sample listing of rescue organizations are identified in our directory https://helpingabusedanimals.net/directory-view/. Awareness about animal abuse is growing. Companies are creating products that are cruelty-free. Sample businesses that care are listed at https://helpingabusedanimals.net/join-the-center/friends-business/. Many people risk their lives to save animals. These are the positive stories. But not all humans are innately humane. Instead, too many cause torture and slaughter of animals directly or indirectly.
Educating the Public about Animal Abuse
Why isn’t society providing early education in order to raise children that will care about the plight of animals and love animals rather than harm them? Instead, society is more interested in leather goods, slaughtered food. Some don’t know the depths of the torture that gave them the things they buy. Some actually enjoy torturing animals.
Advertisers offer specials so that people can buy dozens of pairs of leather shoes easily. Do we really need so many pairs of shoes? Advertisers show ‘happy cows’ giving us their milk. That is so far from the truth. Cows are constantly raped in a brutal way, only to have their babies taken away and the milk given to humans instead. Eggs are very healthy. Not to all the male baby chicks that are killed by drowning or shredding of their tiny bodies (because male chicks are ‘useless’). Advertisers showcase leather products, again without showing how the leather was created.
People don’t connect the torture to the final product. What would people do if they saw how their meal or clothing was made? What can they see in the eyes of the abused animals? If they really looked, they would see fear, pain, horror, sorrow, confinement and a lifelong abuse, torture till slaughter.
Some Statistics around Animal Abuse
The abuse is global. 65 billion farm animals are slaughtered yearly (3000 every second). 6000 African rhinos have been slaughtered since 2008, with the West African Black Rhino now extinct. 100,000 elephants have been slaughtered by poachers in 3 years. 80% of the herds are lost. One billion rabbits, foxes, seals, minks and dogs are slaughtered every year for their fur. 11,000 dogs and cats are killed at shelters daily in the US alone. Thirty million dogs are first tortured then slaughtered for meat in Asia.
And all done in a brutally, barbaric, inhumane, sickening way.
So why don’t humans do more to enlighten and change behaviors? Easy answers: money, selfishness, lack of time, lack of knowledge, hiding from truths… many reasons.
Some Witnessed Examples of Animal Abuse:
In the United States, some kill wildlife for fun 6. Some abuse dogs out of revenge 7. Yellville Arkansas drops live turkeys from planes and buildings to their deaths, all to enjoy the town’s annual festivals 8. Every year more than 100,000 American horses are brutally packed for shipping and long drawn-out painful deaths as they are dismembered while conscious 9. The Government spends $15 million tax dollars yearly on experiments that torture animals for useless experiments 17. Factory farms are beyond abusive, torturous, barbaric and heartless 10. Mother cows learn what happens to their babies after birth, and try to hide their newborns to protect them from being taken away by farmers, never to be seen again by their mothers4. Universities are cited for animal abuse 18. Companies are showcasing kids as trophy hunters 19.
Children have been seen taking Snapchat photos of them torturing animals 13. And what are kids learning in high school? How to jump rope with cats’ intestines 14. Museums educate and entertain people with hatching of baby chicks, only to slaughter the chicks after they are used in the museums 22.
In Canada, baby seal hunters use an axe to bludgeon the seals, right in front of their babies 16. And they continue such slaughters even though the demand for fur has decreased. Why? Money!
In China, they skin cows while alive, after cutting off their legs so that they can’t move 5.
In Africa, ivory poaching continues, baby elephants are stolen for abuse in animal entertainment with a life-long abusive jail sentence across the world 11, trophy hunters continue to enjoy the slaughter of treasured animals 12.
In Korea’s dog meat trade, they first torture the animals on purpose (they feel that they become more virile this way), then they slaughter brutally 15.
In Japan, whale slaughter is explained away as research 20.
In Spain, Indonesia and many places… bull fighting, cock fighting, dog fighting, boar fighting… all for fun entertainment! 23
Live animals are used as prizes, stuffed in enclosed containers, to die of suffocation 21.
But it’s time for everyone to recognize the realities and become more humane. CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, FOX, and all the rest…. take a stand to help abused animals. It’s long past due. What you’ve done already to help is not enough.
Abuse. And more abuse. When will it stop? Where are people’s sense of humanity? Why are so many people so heartless!
Elephants are sweet, sensitive, affectionate, devoted, loving beings. They mourn their dead just like humans. They suffer being jailed in cement cages at zoos and being abused for entertainment arenas. Not to mention all the ivory trade poaching for their tusks, killing them in front of their own babies.
And the babies cry by their mother’s side for days and days, just like humans. Babies are taken away from their mothers so that they can be whipped into shape to entertain humans. And their mother’s cry and cry, just like humans.
Elephants are sentient beings who have families, just like humans. They are playful too, when they are left in their own natural surroundings, protected from horrible people. But how horrible Nosey and other entertainment animals feel with the bull hook that harms them daily? That is the only way circuses get the elephants to stand on their front legs. Elephants are not meant to stand on their front legs. Their huge sizes require standing on all 4 legs. And viewers don’t even think of the abuse that got the elephants on their front 2 legs.
Animals feel. They feel all the pain and emotions that people feel. Why can’t people feel the pain that they are cause animals and these elephants?
www.SaveNoseyNow.org, established in 2014, has been fighting hard to help Nosey. They are located in Florida. On their website, they provide information about Nosey’s abuse and health, along with her history. Nosey, as other captive elephants, are kept in horrible conditions, small, airless, boxcars, small trailers, without exercise, with poor diets. It is any wonder that they develop arthritis, foot infections, stress, and early death? Is this want the audience wants when they go to circuses and carnival rides?
What is the current status of Nosey? She has been alone for 30 years, in solitary. Nosey has health problems, both physically and psychologically. She is confined, chained, abused with a painful bull hook, with improper diet, exposure to extreme temperatures. She is forced to give rides to humans and entertain while under severe pain. All this has been witnessed and reported to the authorities, who have done nothing to help. The owners Have Trunk Will Travel have been cited by the USDA with violations of the Animal Welfare Act.
Keep tweeting and sharing this information. Help send Nosey to a sanctuary like the Elephant Sanctuary in TN or PAWS in CA.

There are many success stories in helping abused animals, thankfully. So many have helped improve conditions for animals. Yet, the successes only skim the surface. The amount of challenges and suffering that animals are facing is beyond belief, a terrible horror.
Helping Abused Animals Success Stories
Rescue organizations are saving animals, for example, SOS Wildlife saved elephants from abuse and poor conditions; Soi Dog Foundation saved many dogs from torture and death. Many organizations (see directory for sample) and many nameless people are helping abused animals where ever they can.
“Greyhound trainers sentenced to PRISON for animal cruelty”, thanks to Animals Australia investigations to achieve justice for the victims of live baiting. Animals Australia rescued some lucky greyhounds after they retired from racing. Otherwise, they would have faced death at retirement.
“Tennessee Becomes First State to Create Animal Abuser Registry”, as reported by Pet360. “According to the National Anti-Vivisection Society (NAVS), which is dedicated to ending the exploitation of animals used in science, lawmakers in 10 states introduced but failed to pass bills establishing an animal abuser registry before the end of the 2015 legislative session. Those states are: Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.”
As reported by Independent News, notable success stories include reduction in abusive animal entertainment, reduction in brutal religious animal sacrifice, bans on fox-hunting with more than 2 dogs, retirement of federally owned chimpanzees from lab experimentation, some countries banned animal-sex tourism and cosmetics & household-product testing on animals, horse-drawn carriages, no more breeding of orcas for SeaWorld.
Petitions have helped bring justice. As Animal Petitions notes, successes include less baby monkeys being tortured in labs, vet’s license revoked for killing a cat brutally, turtle-abusing and pig wrestling events cancelled, lions returning home, mittens donated for burned koalas, airlines banning the transporting of wildlife trophies.
Many more vegan restaurants and food options are blooming. More people are eating less animal products. as they are becoming more aware of the brutality that exists behind food products.
Helping Abused Animals Continued Challenges
Help Raju from abuse. We need more signatures by Sept 4.
These successes are great but only skim the surface.
Farm animals are still tortured for food. Dogs and cats are tortured before being killed for food because of the perceived benefits.
Live frogs are encased in key chains to suffocate.
Zoos are acting as jails, leaving many animals in small cages where they can’t move much or alone as in the Bronx Zoo lonely elephant case.
Wild animals killed for trophies.
Elephants and rhinos on the verge of extinction, yet poached and killed for their tusks for ivory trinkets.
Horrible quarantine facilities for animals to die in. Kill ‘shelters’.
Skins of animals ripped off their live bodies and electrocution for fur and leather.
Animal entertainment continues torturing. Bull, horse, dog and other animal fighting, torture and killing.
Insensitive families leaving their pets out on chains and in fidget cold weather unprotected and lonely.
Pet owners giving up their pets because they just don’t want them anymore, leaving them to die in shelters and feel bereavement at being abandoned by their ‘loving’ families.
Stuffing of ducks forcefully for Foie Gras.
Garbage thrown into the sea.
And if that is not enough, there are always some people who enjoy torturing and killing animals for fun.
Animals are loving, sensitive beings
Animals feel emotional and physical pain and fear, just like humans. They are devoted, loving beings that need to be treasured, loved and taken care of. We are their voice.
It is so hard to believe that our beloved pets are being tortured brutally and then eaten in China. Pictures of what is done is so horrifically painful. You can see their fear and the pain they are experiencing.

IFAW is reporting that Zimbabwe baby elephants are being taken away from their families. Elephants mourn their losses and death just like humans do. They are sensitive, loving creatures that actually cry like humans.

Elephants are abused to the point of extinction. They are killed brutally for their tusks. They are tortured in captivity. All for the pleasure of inhumane humans.
