Pets are family. Animals have feelings, they fear, they suffer pain, they have emotions and love for their owners. How can people dump their pets in the cold or at shelters? This is heartbreaking. These pets are devoted to their human families. They mourn lost owners.
There are organizations that are helping abused animals. Leave No Paws Behind is one that lovingly helps these poor senior betrayed animals. They offer end of life support and specialized medical services to these loving animals. Foster care assists until the healthy pets are adopted. The more medically challenged rescues that suffer with terminal and/or severe medical conditions are placed in hospice/long term foster care for as long as needed. Some of the rescues arrive in mutilated conditions from abuse.
Leave No Paws Behind is a non profit located in California. We have listed this organization on our rescue directory. For more information please visit their website too. Also checkout their store and Facebook page.
Here is a great way to save taxpayer dollars. And even better, a way to save animals.
The government is supposed to protect all our country, yet they spend about $12-$15 billion tax dollars every year for wasteful experiments on loving animals … cats, dogs, monkeys and other animals. These experiments are brutally cruel. They are useless. Animal lovers and taxpayers aren’t aware of all of this and haven’t approved these experiments.
The White Coat Waste Project, under the leadership of its president Anthony Bellotti, is fighting back. The White Coat Waste Project is the recipient of six “Congressional Waste Warrior” awards. They are helping abused animals by
- investigating and analyzing these government experiments, the abuse, and the cost,
- educating the public about these abuses,
- building a coalition to resolve the issues.
Sample abuses (as per http://www.whitecoatwaste.org/the-facts/):
- Stuffing hamsters with pizza: $?
- shrimp fight club: $707,000
- shrimps running on treadmills: $? see reference: Shrimp running on treadmills
- Lab Mouse Gender Inequalities $10 million
- Doped Up Rats: $185,625
- Stuttering Mice: almost $2 million
- Vomiting Dogs: $?
- Monkeys on a treadmill: almost $3 million
- Green Tea Force-feeding: $?
- Pig patients: $1.1 million
Currently, the USDA wiped out animal welfare reports and abuse data from its website. Many have protested this action and several lawsuits are being pursued to get this data back online.
For the first time, there will be an audit of the government’s animal labs, thanks to the bi-partisan support, led by Representatives Ken Calvert (R-CA) and Dina Titus (D-NV). See http://www.FactAct.org
Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) and Reps. Ken Calvert (R-Calif.), Tom Marino (R-Pa.), Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-Calif.) and Dina Titus (D-Nev.) were honored by the White Coat Waste Project for their efforts in these initiatives.

It is so horrific to see pets being brutally tortured and then killed for dog and cat meat. How brutal can people be? Where is their humanity. Pets and street animals are rounded up, crushed into cages for extremely long journeys till they reach their torture chambers. They are brutally beaten, skinned alive, or boiled alive.
Why? “These horrors are inflicted because of the barbaric belief that when they are in pain, their bodies release adrenaline that softens their meat. Terror, torture, then a painful death.”
This is quite possibly the worst form of cruelty humans could inflict on innocent animals. Pictures of what is happening will make you weep.

Thank you ASPCA for helping abused animals and King, a brave NYC cat. See article, re-posted here:
“After a video of a Brooklyn man brutally kicking a cat was posted to Facebook last week, animal advocates alerted authorities, leading to the arrest of the man in the video footage by the New York City Police Department (NYPD).
Representatives of various animal welfare organizations, the Mayor’s Alliance and the NYPD worked together to locate the injured cat, named King, seen in the video. The NYPD transported King to the ASPCA Animal Hospital (AAH) to undergo emergency veterinary care.
King is currently recovering at the ASPCA Animal Hospital and will continue to receive treatment and close monitoring as he heals. It is still too soon to discuss a timeline for King’s adoptability.
This case reinforces the importance of reporting animal cruelty in a timely manner. To report animal cruelty in New York City, please dial 311 or call 911 to report crimes in progress. Please visit our Report Animal Cruelty page to learn how to report cruelty in other areas.”
